Open Source Awareness Seminar at Kohat University of Science & Technology |

The open source awareness seminar started at 10 A.M. After recitation from the holy Qur'an, the Vice Chancellor, KUST, Professor Dr. Lutfullah Kakakhel delivered the opening speech. He thanked PSEB team for providing their institution an opportunity to learn the dynamics of open source. He in his speech announced that all IT infrastructure at the newly built city campus of KUST will be open source from the beginning, while systems at main campus will be migrated gradually for which OSRC's assistance is ought.
The VC's speech was followed by the orientation session of seminar which lasted for 2 hours and was attended by approximately 150 people including students, faculty members and other staff. The Vice Chancellor also attended the whole session. Radio Pakistan Kohat team was there to interview Mr. Sufyan Kakakhel, Vice Chancelllor and some other participants.
In the second session open source applications and Linux operating system and their functionality was demonstrated by Mr. Babar Haq. |
