OSRC conducts 8-day training workshop at Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) |

From 18-25 June 2007, the OSRC conducted an 8-day open source software training workshop on Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Java for the IT students and faculty of Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST).
The university has already declared Linux as its official operating system, which will combat software piracy, and result in new areas of research and development for the students. It was also announced that a KUST open source forum will be established, which will collaborate with the OSRC to provide open source training and services at the local level.
The OSRC's presence at KUST generated considerable interest in the workshop. Three Peshawar-based daily Urdu newspapers, Aaj, Express and Mashriq provided written coverage, and Kohat radio station conducted interviews.
